Back on Track is absolutely delighted to announce Gillian Drakeford as our new Chair of Trustees.

Gillian, who joined our board of trustees last year, has had an extensive career as a corporate CEO. She was head of IKEA in the UK and also led several of its international enterprises – including establishing the business in China. Today she works as an advisor and mentor with consumer businesses.

Whether it’s the world of international business or a charity like Back on Track, Gillian has a real passion for developing organisations where people can thrive and grow.

She says, ‘I am so privileged to be taking on this position at Back on Track. Over the past year I’ve seen that it’s truly a unique and special place with a great sense of community. I’m a firm believer in lifelong learning and Back on Track gives that opportunity to so many who wouldn’t otherwise have it.’

Gillian is taking the reins from Gary Cripps, who has been Chair since 2019 and is staying on as a trustee. Siobhan Pollitt, Back on Track’s Chief Executive, says ‘I’d like to thank Gary for his fantastic contribution over the last four years, which have included the challenges of the pandemic. I’m now excited to welcome Gillian as Chair and seeing what we can achieve together over the years to come.’
