Our patron and friend Mike Joyce – drummer in the iconic Manchester band The Smiths – is raffling a unique piece of pop history to raise money for Back on Track! He has donated his Silver Disc for the band’s Strangeways, Here We Come album, with the winner to be drawn on the 35th anniversary of the album’s release.
Strangeways, Here We Come is The Smiths’ final album and Mike’s personal favourite, so this Silver Disc means a lot to him. However he knows that a lot of people are struggling this year and really wants to do what he can to help. And rather than auction it to a wealthy collector he has decided to give every Smiths fan a once in a lifetime opportunity to own this priceless part of the group’s history. This is an original disc presented to Mike at the time of release 35 years ago and is not a copy.
For just £5 a ticket absolutely anyone from all over the globe could win it!
There are also four runner up prizes of prints of this photo of Mike with the disc, taken by acclaimed photographer Paul Husband who has captured the images of some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry. The prints are signed by Mike and will be framed for each winner.
