training centre

Our education and training centre in Manchester city centre provides courses and guidance for adults (over 18) who, are going through a process of rehabilitation or resettlement.  Courses include basic skills (reading and writing and maths), computers, cookery, art, as well as sessions on ‘life skills’ such as cookery and personal finance, and courses that will help learners progress onto other opportunities.  Please note, we do not offer ESOL (English for speakers of other languages).
Education centre booklet Spring 2012

Our education centre is not a permanent ‘home’, but rather a stepping stone. We want to inspire and support our students to progress on to mainstream further education, voluntary work or paid employment. To do this, we run an Information Advice and Guidance service from the education centre. We also have a weekly ‘volunteering taster day’ when our students can get some real work experience in a friendly environment.

We will be trying out some new approaches from September 2011, to offer more programmes focused on gaining voluntary work experience. Find out more about the changes at Back on Track…
