what we offer

- Education centre (formerly known as MERC)
Our education and training centre in Manchester city centre provides courses and guidance for adults (over 18) who are going through a process of resettlement.  Initial taster courses (a few weeks) include computers, cookery, art, drama. In January 2012 we will be offering some new introductory vocational training courses in catering, social care and retail.  More about the centre

- Outreach courses in your venue
We also provide courses on an ‘outreach’ basis in hostels, day centres and probation offices in Greater Manchester. The aim of the Outreach sessions is to engage with people who would not normally attend an adult education centre, with the aim of gradually introducing them to our Back on Track centre. More about outreach

- ‘Changes Ahead’
This project supports Manchester residents with mental health difficulties who are facing changes to sickness benefit entitlement. More about ‘Changes Ahead

- Mentoring
We run a scheme to match up volunteer mentors with ex-offenders who are looking to get into employment. More about mentoring

- Publications
Back on Track occasionally publishes free research and ‘good practice’ guides related to working with marginalised adults. Have a look at our Publications section for current resources.

- Training
Back on Track occasionally provides training for practitioners in areas in which we have expertise. Have a look at our News and Events section to find out about forthcoming training.
