Barbara first came across Back on Track as a probation officer in Manchester in the 1980s, when she used to refer clients to our training centre. For many years she was Assistant Chief Officer at Greater Manchester Probation, and joined the board of Back on Track after retiring in 2010.

Louise joined the board in 2007. She spent many years teaching in prisons, and latterly at The Manchester College she managed offender learning across several regions of the country. As Vice Chair at Back on Track, Louise takes a lead on organisational development and quality improvement.

Mark is Resources and Performance Manager for Manchester Adult Education Service, and has been a trustee of Back on Track since 2005. As well as his duties as treasurer, Mark acts as an important link to MAES and Manchester City Council.

Emily works as a solicitor specialising in property law, and joined the trustee board in 2011, where she acts as our legal ‘guru’.

Peter is Commercial Director at The Manchester College, where his responsibilities include business development and offender learning. Peter joined the trustee board in 2012, and acts as an important link to the College.

Dave is Operations Manager at The Work Company, a not-for-profit organisation specialising in supporting people into employment, and has been on the board since 2007.

Louise O’Neill


Louise is our newest trustee. She was Back on Track’s Business Development Officer from 2012-14. Since then she has worked in corporate fundraising for charities in Manchester. She has extensive experience in evaluation and project planning, as well as fundraising.
